Description
This course will guide students through the steps of writing an academic paper in English. Students will learn how to construct each section of the paper. Students will also learn how to format in APA. The classes will include writing and feedback from the instructor. All writing will be done in class. It is not necessary to have taken Academic Writing Workshop 1 in order to take this course, but it would be helpful.

Some reading may be required outside class. Students are encouraged to visit the self-access center; however, this is not required.

Grading
Grading is based on the students’ completion of in-class activities and attendance.
There will be 3 assessment tasks during the quarter. These tasks will assess the students’ progress in writing ability for the abstract & introduction (30%), methods & findings (30%), and discussion and conclusion (30%) sections of a paper. In addition, 10% will awarded for participation in classroom activities.
